Jan Jacobsen discovered Greenhill Humane Society’s foster program in 2008 when her daughter signed up to take care of two puppies. Jan saw how rewarding it was to open your heart and home to such helpless animals…and she was hooked! She has since fostered 35 puppies and does not see an end in sight. Jan claims, “I can’t picture myself not taking care of Greenhill puppies, I am a foster parent for life!”

In her spare time Jan enjoys making baby quilts for Birth to Three, as well as trying her hand in photography. She takes pictures of each puppy she fosters so she can remember each experience. Jan creatively turns the photos into greeting cards for Greenhill to use.

Greenhill staff can always count on Jan to take amazing care of any puppies that they send her way. She is one of the most dedicated and reliable volunteers around. The foster program would not be what it is today without the generous help of Jan, and for that the animals and staff would like to say THANK YOU!
