Each year, Greenhill Humane Society takes in hundreds of animals that require medical attention. If the needed care can be provided on-site, the animals are routinely treated and brought to good health before being adopted into a loving family. If the animal requires extensive treatment, Greenhill works with local veterinarians and regional clinics in order to provide the necessary care. Unfortunately, this is often extremely expensive and can be provided to only a few animals each year.  

The Mend a Friend Fund was created to give more animals life saving medical treatments in order for them to lead healthy lives with loving families. Read some of our Mend a Friend success stories here.

The average cost of special treatment is $500 per animal but varies depending upon the extent of necessary care.  

• A donation of $250 will provide one animal with emergency clinic care or a visit to specialists such as an ophthalmologist or dermatologist.  

• A donation of $500 to $1,000 will provide a necessary surgery for broken bones or other orthopedic surgery.  

• Donations of $1,000 or more will provide care for multiple animals or a single animal whose needs are extreme.
