Join us in Alton Baker Park Sunday May 17th\, when over 1\,000 dogs and their people leash up for a 10K\, 5K\, or 2K run/walk in the park. There’s the run\, the walk\, canine activities\, vendor booths\, demonstrations\, and more! \nNEW THIS YEAR: The FAST FURLESS 5K for people who want to leave their dogs home (or *gasp* don’t have a dog) and run faster than 8:02 minute miles. \nPre-Registration is $35 for Adults (ages 13 – 64)\, $25 for adults aged 65+. Children age 12 and under are free (registration is required for participation in the run/walk).  All registrations include a bandana. T-shirts can be purchased while supplies last. \nDay-of Registration goes up $5\, so be sure to register early! \nFundraise for the animals! With your help we hope to raise $100\,000 to help care for over 5\,500 animals in 2026.

We can’t promise your drawing will be a masterpiece but it will definitely give you a chuckle (let’s be honest\, our team is better at caring for the animals than drawing them.) \nHOW TO PARTICIPATE: \n\nDonate a minimum of $20. Donate here\nOnce you’ve donated\, email your pet’s photo to community@green-hill.org.\nKeep an eye on your email for your pet portrait.\n\nRULES: \n\nOnly one pet per $20 donation (additional pet photos can be submitted for $20 each).\nAll submissions must be made by 6 pm on 2/10/25 so your portrait will be finished before Valentine’s Day.\nEvery paid submission will receive a scanned version of their artwork emailed to the email provided.\nFor an additional $5\, we can mail you the original drawn image in addition to an emailed version. They provide comfort and security to us when times are the hardest. For people and families who are struggling with housing\, financial\, or food insecurity\, giving up their loved companion may seem like the only choice. That’s why Greenhill Humane Society runs a year-round Community Pet Pantry which provides free pet food and supplies for people and families in need. \nIn 2024\, Greenhill distributed over 186 thousand pounds of pet food throughout Lane County. \nBecause our community’s need is so high\, in addition to our on-site pet pantry\, we have partnered with non-profits throughout Lane County to distribute food and supplies where it’s needed most. People with pets who are also receiving support from organizations like Bethel Education Foundation\, Catholic Community Services\, Community Sharing in Cottage Grove\, Connected Lane County\, Community Supported Shelters\, Everyone Village\, HIV Alliance\, Homes for Good\, Hosea Youth Services\, Looking Glass\, Pro-Bone-O\, Reveille Foundation\, Tucker’s Cupboard in Cottage Grove\, and White Bird all have access to pet food and supplies provided by Greenhill’s Pet Pantry. \nAdditionally\, with the support of United Way of Lane County\, Greenhill delivers pet food and supplies directly to people with pets who are otherwise unable to access Greenhill’s location or the locations of any of our non-profit partners. \nGreenhill’s Pet Pantry is truly a lifeline for people and families with pets. If you can support this program with a financial donation\, please click here. \nIf you need help providing food or pet supplies for your furry family member\, visit here\, give us a call at 541-689-1503\, or stop by the shelter any day between 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
