We love our volunteers and fosters!
April 10-16th is National Volunteer Week! Established in 1974,National Volunteer Week focuses national attention on the impact and power of volunteerism. This one week of the year highlights the enormous contribution that volunteers make in their local communities on every day and week of the year.

In 2015, over 1,050 Greenhill and 1st Avenue volunteers contributed more than 36,000 hours of their time to volunteering and serving the animals at both locations. In addition, 119 foster parent volunteers opened up their homes to over 599 animals in need of short and long term foster stays.

THANK YOU to all of our wonderful volunteers and foster families who continue to contribute with such tireless enthusiasm, boundless energy and the utmost dedication to caring for the animals in our community.
THANK YOU for your choosing to support the work and the mission of Greenhill Humane Society and the First Avenue Shelter! We simply could not provide the high level and consistency of care that we do for each and every animal without our ever expanding and increasingly more awesome family of volunteers and foster parents!
