MEET OUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS


  President: Jeff Petry
Jeff manages the City of Eugene's parking system. Prior to moving to Eugene, Jeff worked for an economic consulting firm in Philadelphia, PA and as the property tax economist to the Ohio General Assembly in Columbus, OH. When not volunteering his time at Greenhill, he enjoys spending his free time with his family, rowing, and watching Ohio State football.
         Vice President: Renee Watts
Renee has lived in Eugene since 1999. She adores their four-footed children, Huckleberry, an 8 year old schnauzer and Gordy, a Greenhill graduate. They love to go walking and go to the dog park! Renee practices dentistry (on humans) in the Gateway area of Springfield and enjoys travelling and quilting when she gets the chance!
Secretary: Catherine Susman
Catherine is the Director of Purchasing and Contracting Services or the University of Oregon. She is also an attorney with expertise in non-profit corporations, real estate, intellectual property and tax. Cathey lives in Eugene with her husband and two very active dogs, Wylie and Ella.She enjoys running with them whenever possible.



 
Treasurer: Kay Blackburn
Kay is currently the Financial Services Director for Lane County. She shares her home with two large mixed-breed dogs, Ross and Jake, while her husband is working out of the country on a one-year assignment.




Kelly Darnell
Kelly works for the City of Eugene's Parks and Open Space Division as their Marketing and Outreach Manager. Kelly has a background in fundraising and prior to returning to the Northwest in 2005, spent 6 years as the Asia/West Africa Program Officer for Direct Relief International. Kelly and her partner have 2 dogs and 3 rescued cats.

Mark Doyle
Mark is the general manager of Doyle's Harley Davidson, located in Eugene and Roseburg. He has been involved with motorcycles for over 25 years. Mark's wife Victoria is on the board of Saving Grace Animal Shelter in Roseburg. They share their home with their 4 large and active dogs.
Rich Gaston
Rich is a Realtor with John L. Scott Real Estate specializing in land use, planning, and development. His home companions are a Ragdoll cat named Ricky and an elderly terrier, Lemonade.
Rich enjoys remodeling homes, landscaping and running.
Emily Hill
Emily is an attorney with Gartland, Nelson, McCleery, Wade & Walloch. Her practice emphasizes intellectual property- including trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets- transactions and litigation, as well as business, employment, and probate litigation. Emily's interests include martial arts, outdoor activities, and spending time with her delightful dog Dakota and terrific tabby Sammy.

Becky LaMarche
Becky is the owner of City Center Cat & Bird Clinic in Eugene where she has been practicing for four years. She graduated from the Oregon State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1996. She is pictured with Cassie, adopted from a shelter and the very best dog in the world!
 
Gail Schroder, DVM
Before joining the Greenhill board, Gail was the liaison between the Lane County Veterinary Board and Greenhill for a year. She also got involved by volunteering her services in the small animal room working with rabbits and other little furry critters. Gail is a veterinarian at Eugene Animal Hospital working with dogs and cats. Her special area of interest is with animals that have behavior problems. In her free time, Gail enjoys biking, bird-watching and movies. She and her husband share their home with their dog and four cats.
Judith Thompson
Judith teaches management at the Lundquist College of Business at the UO. She also works as a consultant, specializing in work with entrepreneurial ventures of all sorts. She has a dog, Frankie, who was adopted from Greenhill last January and is adjusting well to her new home. Judith and Frankie like to go for long walks and hikes, especially in the hills and at the coast (as well as the dog park, of course).
Mary Walston
A long time resident of Eugene, Mary joined the Greenhill Board in 2002 and is currently serving as the Past President of the board. Although she has had many wonderful felines in her life, she is currently mastered by several Scottish Terriers. The most recent addition to the family is a sweet little Scottie girl from Greenhill who Mary fostered and then later adopted. When not involved with her Scotties and Greenhill events, Mary works for the City of Eugene as the Council, Public and Government Affairs Manager.

Ginger Balazs

Ginger is a Branch Manager for West Coast Bank at their North Eugene Branch on Green Acres Road. She has been in the banking and financial services industry for 15 years. Originally from New York, Ginger has lived and worked in Eugene since the late 1980's. She and her family share their home with 2 endearing, energetic and loving rescued Dalamations -- Desi and her daughter Oreo.
