Shelter Veterinarian
The Shelter Veterinarian is an integral member of Greenhill’s veterinary team and works closely with the Director of Veterinary Medicine, Director of Operations, program managers, veterinary technicians, animal care teams, and community partners. Together, the team works to ensure that medical decisions support both individual animals and the health and welfare of the shelter population as a whole.
This is a shelter medicine position. Greenhill does not operate a community animal health clinic. The shelter Veterinarian’s primary focus is on the care of shelter-owned animals, while providing opportunities to participate in innovative community-based veterinary and animal welfare work.
The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys the intersection of medicine, animal welfare, population health, and people, and is looking for an opportunity to grow their shelter medicine expertise alongside an experienced veterinary team.

Director of Veterinary Medicine
Full-time, salaried position.
Greenhill employees may be called to work in the event of a local disaster, inclement weather, or other emergency situation, and are expected to perform emergency service duties as
assigned.
Salary: $105,000 – $120,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.

Certified Veterinary Technician
Greenhill Humane Society is seeking a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) to provide skilled medical care and technical support within a fast-paced shelter medicine program. This role is responsible for animal triage, treatment under veterinary supervision, surgical and diagnostic support, and population health management. Working closely with veterinarians and the shelter team, the CVT helps ensure high standards of care while supporting positive outcomes for animals. This position plays a vital role in improving animal health, welfare, and adoptability, directly contributing to lifesaving efforts in the community.

Director of Veterinary Medicine
Full-time, salaried position that includes working one weekend day each week and some holidays. Greenhill employees may be called to work in the event of a local disaster, inclement weather, or other emergency situation, and are expected to perform emergency service duties as
assigned.
Salary: $45,000 – $50,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.

Canine Program Manager
The Canine Program Manager leads and oversees Greenhill’s Canine Program, including care, housing, enrichment, behavior, placement, and daily operations. You will manage a team of animal care staff, supervise canine housing, monitor animal welfare, support staff development, and collaborate with Veterinary, Volunteer, Foster Care, Outreach, and Customer Service teams.

Director of Operations
This is a full-time, salaried position.
Greenhill employees may be called to work in the event of a local disaster, inclement weather, or other emergency situation, and are expected to perform emergency service duties as assigned.
Salary: $52,000–$56,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.

Greenhill Humane Society is a life-saving organization, where animals are safe and well cared for; where all life is affirmed and respected. We provide compassionate care for animals, support for the community, and education to promote the humane treatment of animals. For the past 13 years, we have successfully saved over 90% of the animals who have come into our care.
We operate the only animal shelter within the Eugene/Springfield area with programs including animal adoptions, reuniting lost animals with their families, crisis care boarding, spay/neuter for free-roaming cats, humane education and volunteer and foster care opportunities. Greenhill Humane Society is open to the public 7 days a week.
In 2019, we combined our two shelter locations into one campus, creating a new state-of-the-art shelter and animal care facility which includes stress-reducing dog housing with larger, more comfortable spaces for the dogs and plenty of natural light. The expanded cat adoption area has more rooms for cats including outdoor “catios” and the small animals received an updated, large area to relax and roam in.
