Meet Our Board of Directors

Renee Watts

President: Renee Watts, DDS

Renee has been in practice in the Eugene-Springfield area since 1999. She studied Zoology at North Dakota State University, and received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Minnesota. In her free time, she enjoys a variety of sports and reading. After twenty years of tending to various dogs, Renee has been recently adopted by a neighborhood cat of mystery named James Bond. She enjoys being part of an organization that supports the mutually beneficial effects humans and companion animals can have on each other’s lives.

Treasurer: Heather Nelson

Heather works with her alma mater, the University of Oregon, as a Contracts Officer. She previously owned and ran her own small, Eugene business. She enjoys using her skills in the administrative and business realms to be of service to community – incorporating her Environmental Studies education into the mix as well. Rescue animals have been a large part of Heather’s life since growing up in a hamlet where dogs and cats were often abandoned. All of her animals have either arrived as strays or rescues, including her current companion, Hazel. As a native Oregonian, Heather enjoys activities through all of the seasons: cross-country skiing in the winter, walking in the rain in the spring, hiking and swimming during summers, and gardening and practicing yoga throughout the year.

Lilly Storment - Secretary

Lilly Storment was born and raised in Eugene, Oregon. She attended the Lundquist College of Business at the University of Oregon and now works at the commercial real estate firm of Evans, Elder, Brown & Seubert as a commercial real estate broker. She lives in Coburg with her fiancé Erik and rescue cat Tinkle where she hopes to one day have a rescue farm for all different types of animals.

Angie Robinson-Grein

Angie grew up in Washington state and graduated from Central Washington University with a degree in Human Resources Management and Accounting. Shortly thereafter, she and her husband, Rudy, moved to Eugene for a job opportunity with Bi-Mart Corporation. Today, she continues to work with Bi-Mart and has advanced into the Vice-President of Human Resources position there. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family (including her two dogs – Mia and Kobi), photography, traveling, and working on craft projects.

Mary Reilly

Mary Reilly has been a fixture in Lane County since 2012 when she joined the Morning Mix with Liz & Reilly at 94.5 Mix FM. Through her daughter’s middle school internship with Sasha, she and the kids became a Greenhill Foster family and, although her kids have moved out, Mary continues to foster and manage the family pets: 1 dog and 3 cats. Now a realtor with Windermere Real Estate, Mary enjoys serving in her community, playing ice hockey and traveling.

Sam Maslin

Sam is a CPA at Moss Adams specializing in providing tax compliance and consulting services to tax-exempt organizations. She received her Master’s of Accountancy from the University of Montana and then moved to Eugene with her husband, daughter, three dogs, and two cats. In her free time she enjoys outdoor adventures with her daughter, Korbin, husband, Daniel, and their pups. She especially enjoys running, mountain biking, hiking, and climbing.

Sandy Smalley, DVM

Sandy Smalley, DVM

Dr. Sandra (Sandy) Smalley is a veterinarian who has practiced companion animal medicine in Eugene for over 38 years. Throughout that time she has worked with Greenhill Humane Society, but it is only after selling her practice, Edgewood Animal Clinic, and retiring that she has adequate time to serve on the Greenhill board. She brings a passion for animal welfare, but also an understanding of how to manage a successful business. She is excited to become involved in this phenomenal opportunity to build a new facility for the benefit of the pets in Greenhill’s care. In her free time, Sandy loves to travel the world, hike and camp, white water raft, garden and read. She is learning to fly fish. Retirement brings the ability to spend more time with her three rescued cats, her beloved black Labrador and her patient partner, Jon.
