Surrendering an Animal to Greenhill
Releasing your pet to Greenhill Humane Society can be a difficult decision to make. We understand and appreciate your efforts to place your companion where he or she will be safe and humanely cared for.
While we cannot guarantee that your pet will be adopted, we do make animals available for adoption as long as they are healthy, well adjusted, and not exhibiting significant behavioral or temperament problems. We try our best to place animals in homes where they will be considered a part of the family and a companion for life. We will do what we feel is in the best interest of the animal, using our experience and available resources.
Please note that Greenhill accepts ONLY owner surrendered pets and that all animals must be received by APPOINTMENT.

AFTER you have left a message for the Receiving Manager, you may expedite the process by completing the appropriate surrender form with as much information as possible and returning it to the shelter Attn: Receiving Department. You can do so via email, fax, postal mail or hand delivery.
If you are surrendering a cat or dog the receiving department will conduct a brief phone interview with you prior to scheduling an appointment. You will also need to print and complete the appropriate surrender form and bring it with you to your appointment (unless it has already been submitted)
Note: If you are having difficulty downloading or viewing PDF files, you may need to download the current version of Adobe Acrobat Reader. Download it free here.
Fees are on a sliding scale based on ability to pay. These fees help cover the costs of caring for the animal until a new home is found. This includes food, housing, spay/neuter, vaccinations, etc.
Greenhill does not accept strays. If you find a stray animal, please see Lost & Found.
