Foster-To-Adopt Program
Greenhill's Foster-to-Adopt Program is a special program designed to help set potential adopters up for success, when adopting adult dogs with certain behavioral needs.
Through the program, foster-to-adopt participants can foster an eligible dog for a specified period of time in order to see if they and the dog are a good match prior to committing to an adoption. Through the program, participants also receive regular support from shelter staff during the program period. Support may include supplies, support for behavioral questions or concerns, and/or medical care.
At the end of the program period, participants can choose to adopt the dog or return the dog to Greenhill if the dog and participant are not the right match. (*Please note, the participant is not required to complete the program prior to making a decision about adoption).
* Please note that not all dogs are eligible for this program. Eligible dogs will have a “Foster-to-Adopt” banner on their Greenhill website photo.
Please contact Greenhill Canine Program or Foster Care Program staff for more information.
