Greenhill Humane Society Receives 19 Dogs from an Overcrowding Case

Dogs are available for adoption

EUGENE, OREGON – (July 14, 2023) – On June 28 and 29, Greenhill Humane Society took in 19 German Shepherd dogs from Eugene Animal Services in an overcrowding case.

“Many of the dogs arrived underweight, and all were under-socialized,” said Sasha Elliott, Greenhill’s Director of Operations, “They had never been on a leash, received veterinary care, or training. When they arrived here the dogs received immediate veterinary care to address old and active injuries.”

Over the past two weeks, Greenhill’s canine team, including staff and volunteers, have been working closely with each of the dogs, building trust, teaching leash skills, basic obedience, and providing play-date interactions with other dogs in their care.

Currently ten of the dogs are up for adoption. They range in age from 1 to 7 years old. While some dogs are shy and cautious, they are friendly and curious. All have been provided with vaccinations, microchipped and are spayed or neutered.

People interested in adopting these dogs can visit Greenhill’s website (www.green-hill.org) or visit the shelter any day between 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

People interested in supporting the care of these dogs and others like them are encouraged to make a donation (https://www.green-hill.org/donate). Click here to donate.
