Tails around Town/Pawjama Party Program

Tails Around Town is a program where our wonderful volunteers and fosters can check out a dog for a day or even take them for a Pawjama Party and keep them for the night. If you think this is the program for you, check out the information below and let us know to sign you up!

Step 1 - Watch welcome video

Step 2 - Read FAQ's

Dogs can be picked up from the shelter between 11am and 3pm

For a day field trip, you can have the dog with you for as long as you want as long as they are returned to the shelter by 5pm

To change your day trip into a sleepover, you must call or return to the shelter before 3pm and check with program staff if the dog you have can go on a sleepover. If yes, staff will collect any supplies you need and you may keep the dog until 11am the following day.

The dog can go with you anywhere inside of Lane County, with the exception of no dog parks.

The only place the dog can go off-leash is in your yard as long as it’s fully fenced.

No off-site animal introductions are allowed. If you have a dog at home and you want to keep the shelter dog for a pawjama party, shelter staff must be available for a dog introduction first. If no introduction can be done at the shelter, the dog will not be allowed to go home with you.

Inform the individual of how they can visit the dog at the shelter and provide them with shelter information, give them a Greenhill business card or give them our website to contact us.
