A young pup was discovered on a logging road near Coos Bay late at night on July 11th. The dog was emaciated, dehydrated, and had infected wounds on all four feet. The person who came upon this poor pup, cared for him overnight, sharing his food and water, and giving him the name “Santi” after the brave adventurer in Paulo Coelho’s The Alchemist. The next morning, Santi’s finder brought him to Greenhill Humane Society for care.
Despite everything he’s endured, Santi is trusting and appreciative of the care and attention he’s been receiving. Over the past two weeks he has regained his strength and has been brought back to good health under the supervision of Greenhill’s team.
Santi’s story has been shared on social media and reached people around the world. We are thankful that the Good Samaritan who found Santi brought him to us, and we are thankful that we are able to provide the critical care Santi needs.
